I went six months without a PC and relied mostly on my iPad, my Surface and my cell phone for my online content, and I'm so glad I finally bought this. Loads websites lightning quick and is very responsive.

The 1TB of onboard hard drive space is supplemented by the OneDrive Cloud, plus a 4TB WD My Book external. Compared to the HP monitor I bought with the Compaq (which is now my secondary monitor), the difference is night and day.

As far as display quality, I daresay it rivals my wife's Mac, which is something I never thought I'd say about a Windows PC. 12 GB of memory (wonder whether it's upgradeable? - just in case). This is an Intel Core i5 - I'd have preferred the option of an i7, but this suits my purposes nicely. I never once anticipated that I would go for an all-in-one because I really like playing around in the CPU tower.

I bought this to replace a 2009 Compaq (yeah, I know) that blew up because it lacked the guts to run Windows 10 properly. I was in and out of the Best Buy store within 5 minutes. Inside the store, it was easy to go straight to the pick up counter and get my item. It was ready within 1 hour of my online purchase. Everyone from the littlest children (4-5 years old) and the oldest adults (76) in the family have used the computer and have not had any problems.Ībout the order itself - I ordered online and then drove to the store to pick it up. Once everything was installed, I found the computer itself to provide good quality color and graphics, quick processing speed (using applications like Excel and PowerPoint from MicroSoft Office), and easy to navigate. Be aware that several of the updates required restarts after installation but that is to be expected. Be ready for A LOT of updates! There were many updates within the first week of my purchase. But it was easy to set it up to use a mouse and keyboard controls! Hooray! Honestly, that was my biggest worry after working with some of the computers others in the family have purchased recently that push the touch screen thing. I was worried it would be difficult to change the defaults. I hate the fingerprints and I am old enough that I don't have to touch everything I see. (Note: you do need a Phillips Head screwdriver for the stand.)

It took longer to unpack from the box and put it on the stand that came with it than it did to plug it in and get going. This was a great purchase! I am very happy with the computer. Would I recommend this to a friend? Heh, considering I'm buying this for a dad who never spends more than $200 on a computer(his current one was 3 years old when he bought it), I'd say I would. It's definitely too heavy to move from room to room like a laptop, as well. The build quality seems solid, and there's little chance of it tipping over. I'm concerned about having to repair an all-in-one down the line, which is why I was going to get a tower pc, but I'm choosing to be optimistic. It's really nice having everything in one package with only one cord running to it. At this size, I'd prefer a higher resolution, but I bought this for somebody who has to enlarge the type on his 17" monitor, so it'll be fine for him. When video is switched to HDMI-in source, it plays the audio from the other device, as you'd expect. Speakers are nice and loud, even at a low volume level. I have a second Windows 10 computer plugged into the HDMI-in jack while I'm setting his new computer up, so I have to stop myself from tapping on the screen when I'm using the other computer through this screen.

This means that if you touch the screen while playing your Playstation, you clicked an unseen part of your computer screen. Also the touchscreen, keyboard and mouse are all still controlling the computer when you have another it switched to another video source. Some caveats, though: Computer has to be ON and AWAKE to use this as a monitor for a second device, which makes me wonder if he'd still be able to use it as a monitor for whatever computer replaces this one down the line. Wouldn't have bought an all-in-one without it. I was disappointed that hardly any desktop PCs have solid state drives, as those are BLAZING fast. This pc is plenty fast, though the hard drive is only 5400 rpm(common in laptops). I was originally going to get a tower pc for my dad, but this all-in-one wound up having more for the same price! I'm using the touchscreen more than I expected.
