The viewer is assaulted with visceral images: Graphically realistic child murder, sadistic rape scenes, cruel and unusual torture, pre-pubescent stalking, necrophilia, cannibalism, gratuitous full-frontal nudity of beautiful teen-age strippers and prostitutes, a sickening scene of severed-head fellatio-including the money shot, one of kind original 35mm 9/11 footage, and a hauntingly amazing sequence featuring a bloody, crying, hysterical toddler, clutching her real Mother's savaged corpse-all shot on glorious 35mm film. The film features a misogynistic fashion photographer, (with a NAZI heritage) whose vocation is murder. The seamy streets of Las Vegas pulsate with neon decadence and tremble under the horsepower of the "Photographer's" Hemi-Powered Muscle car. "MURDER-SET-PIECES"-the shot on beautiful 35mm film renowned the world over for its savagely satanic vision of America-and, at a budget of $2.2 million dollars, the most expensive independent horror film ever made. "MURDER-SET-PIECES"- has sent shockwaves throughout the film world for being the first 35mm narrative film in history BANNED from film labs and horror film festivals.

The debate will also include your PHONE CALLS about the most infamous Grand-Guignol horror film in cinematic history: "MURDER-SET-PIECES". Dee Snider, Debbie Rochon and Tony Timpone will pose the question: Has director Nick Palumbo created a film that has gone past the Supreme Court's legal definition of obscenity? The ORIGINAL Splat Packer himself will be discussing Dee Snider's slanderous charges of anti-Semitism and child endangerment. I appreciate everyone who checks out ANY version of the film.THANK YOU!!!"įilmmaker Nick Palumbo on Fangoria Radio AGAIN this Friday!!įOR THE THIRD TIME IN AS MANY WEEKS, controversial cult filmmaker Nick Palumbo will be LIVE on the Sirius Satellite Radio Network this Friday, February 2nd, 2007 at 8:30 p.m PST!!! I am honored that LGF picked up my film for distribution for the masses, and it is also my hope that one day everyone can see "Murder-Set-Pieces" the way it was meant to be seen. (and, I'm not only talking about the gore scenes, the rape scenes, the child murder scenes, and the torture scenes.I'm talking about the specific dialouge that is edited out of the film, the music, the cinematography and the editing, period.

Seeing the "NC-17" rated version of "Murder-Set-Pieces", is an entirely different experience than the severely edited "R" rated version. My vision was edited by the great Todd Ramsay (John Carpenter's "The Thing"). I DID NOT edit this new "R" rated cut from LGF. It was made with the "NC-17" rating firmly in mind from the beginning. "Murder-Set-Pieces" was NEVER intended to be an "R" rated film. (Note: Both the Theatrical 105 minute Cut and my Director's Cut 90 minute DVD (released by Fright Flix Productions) are UNCUT, NC-17 rated versions!!.īoth the Theatrical Cut and my Director's Cut versions are essentially my vision.where as the Lion's Gate "R" cut was done to appease the MPAA- (Motion Picture Association of America-and-get it into Blockbuster Video. (The only reason they edited it from the Theatrical version, and not my Director's Cut, is to pad the running time-other wise the film would time in at 68 minutes!!) Lion's Gate edited it for censorship reasons. So, the Lion's Gate version was edited from the 105 minute Theatrical Cut. (I edited my Director's Cut version for artistic reasons, not censorship reasons). It is Uncut as well, but I tightened the film to my original vision. My Director's Cut DVD of "M-S-P" runs 90 minutes. The Lion's Gate "R" rated version is based on the THEATRICAL CUT-which ran 105 minutes. There was 22 minutes cut out of the Lion's Gate 83 minute "R" rated version of "Murder-Set-Pieces"!! (twenty-two minutes).a record for a horror film!! A clarification by the filmmaker himself.
